MORONI-- An automobile accident occurred July 11, at approximately 9 p.m., just south of Moroni on SR-132 at mile post 57.

The vehicle was a 1994 Jeep Cherokee driven by 36-year-old Esperanza Leal.

The vehicle was northbound when it drifted off the highway to the right, overcorrected back on to the highway and over turned, landing on its top.

Four children, ages six, four, three and seven months were in the back seat.

None of the children were in seat belts, the baby was in a car seat but was not secured to the seat.

The four-year-old and the baby were ejected as the vehicle rolled. The four-year-old was flown to Primary Childrens Medical Center with serious head injuries.

The baby was treated and released at Sanpete Valley Hospital with minor injuries.
