RICHFIELD-- Governor Jon Huntsman recently announced the 'Working 4 Utah' initiative, extending state government service hours Monday through Thursday beginning the first week of August. State administrative offices will be closed on Fridays, but essential public services will remain open that already run on extended hours and during the weekends.
In conjunction with the "Working 4 Utah" initiative, the Utah Highway Patrol Office (UHP) in Richfield (UHP Section 10), will be participating with extended hours Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. - 6 p.m., and closed on Fridays.
The change will in no way affect services provided by UHP officers. Officers will continue to work the same shifts they are presently working and availability for responding to emergencies will not be affected.
The extended hours are expected to be beneficial to working parents/grandparents who need child restraint assistance and were unable to get to the UHP office before 4 p.m.
Parents needing child restraints checked or installed are encouraged to contact the Utah Highway Patrol office in person or by phone 435-896-2780.
Working hand-in-hand with Safe Kids Central Utah, a Child Passenger Safety Technician is available to help those who have questions or concerns about their child restraints. Restraints can be checked for recalls, proper installation, and appropriate restraint for the individual child.
Through grants for the UHP and Safe Kids, low-cost or no-cost child restraints are available to those in need. The public is encouraged to take advantage of UHPs services to ensure the safety of children.
Along with Governor Huntsman's goals to conserve energy, save money, and enhance customer service, Section 10 employees are looking forward to this schedule change and the benefits it will provide to those they serve.
