Why did the beetle cross the road? |

I live in the Japanese beetle-infested area of Orem, so when I saw the trucks this morning (July 14) spraying across the street, I hurried up and closed all my windows so they could do mine, as they always had in the past. Imagine my surprise when they sprayed the east side of each road around me, but nobody's yard on the west side.
I called the city and was told that the man from the city who usually is in charge was not there, but a state employee was in charge today, so I called the phone number given me by the city employee. Just imagine my shock when I was told the determination for today's spraying was that the beetles were all living on the east side of every street (the traps told them that). Well, I said to him, I better go out and tell those little beetles that are eating on my fruit tree leaves to move across the street because they are not supposed to be here. I do hope the city is not paying for today's spraying, since only half a job was done.
