SALT LAKE CITY -- Idaho State Police say an Orem woman who died from injuries suffered in a fatal accident was run over by her 25-year-old daughter.
Police say Melissa Peterson accidentally hit the gas pedal, not the break, while backing up to an awning at Bear Lake's North Shore beach Saturday. The beach is near St. Charles, Idaho.
Michele Pereira was taken to Ogden's McKay-Dee Hospital on Saturday.
Four other family members were injured, including Peterson's infant daughter. The infant and two others were hospitalized, and two people were treated at the scene.
Police continue to investigate. Peterson was not cited.
Pereira and her husband, Carlos, have four children. |
