• BODY FOUND The body of a Spanish Fork man missing for nearly a week was found Tuesday morning in a remote area of West Mountain.
Spanish Fork police reported that Casey Alvey's body was found after his brother located his truck just after 11 a.m. The missing man's body was found by his father after a search of the area by family members, the Spanish Fork Police Department and the Utah County Sheriff's office. Alvey, 23, was last seen on July 16, when he told his family that he was going to an uncle's house in Spring Lake. Alvey never arrived at his uncle's house, and his family's attempts to reach him on his cell phone or find him in the mountain areas he frequented were initially unsuccessful. Sgt. Spencer Cannon of the Utah County Sheriff's Office said Alvey was found in the foothills of West Mountain, west of the Payson landfill, just after noon. The sheriff's office will be handling the investigation of the death, and Cannon said no foul play is suspected. "At this point we don't suspect any foul play or anything unusual or suspicious," he said. "It appears to be a suicide." |

This is a very sad ending for this man's family and my heart goes out to them. If indeed he took his own life it is even harder for family members who often struggle with guilt over things they are not responsible for. Suicide is a selfish act given the amount of grief loved one's are left with. It may be that in his case this was the answer for him. For that and for all families who struggle with these sad, sad wasteful endings there is nothing I can say to make them feel better except to be kind to yourself and accept that your loved one found the peace they sought.
I hope everyone uses the key they hold to their own happiness to discover the beauty of life instead of taking an irreversible shortcut going nowhere, never to have lived. This is the ultimate waste of a gift and that makes it terribly sad.

Where are all the sympathy notes?
Well at least people on here aren't calling this man names and saying he was a Drug addict "so who cares" like they are on the KSL.com board.
My sympathy to the family and the Idiots on KSL
