Children and families of all ages gathered on Saturday, July 19th at the top of Center Street to participate in the annual Fiesta Day's Children's parade. This year, thirty four floats signed up to participate and were decorated for the theme, "Celebrating Traditions."
From ward groups and families dressed as firefighters to baseball players, pioneers and Icelandic settlers, the paraders traveled down Center Street and finished at the City Park where children were able to participate in the Children's Fun Festival which included activities like pony rides, bungee jumping, rock wall climbing and other activities throughout the park.
The Spanish Fork Royalty judged the entries in the parade and their favorites will have the opportunity to participate in the Grand Parade on Thursday, July 24th. Winner of the Most Creative Award went to the North Park Ward. The winner for Most Use of Children went to the 3rd Ward and the Best Interpretation of the Theme winner was the 6th Ward who chose not to participate in the Grand Parade. Honorable Mention for this award went to the Canyon Vista Ward who will be in the Grand Parade.
"The parade went really smooth this year," said Ashley Cramer, Chair of the Children's Parade. "It was so much fun to have all the kids there and see them dressed up and having a good time." |
