MT. PLEASANT-- The Farm Bureau recently awarded a $1,000 check to Gary and Gayle Jensen, Fairview, for their report which led to the conviction of a crime committed against a Farm Bureau member.
The Farm Bureau reward program will pay any person $1,000 for information which leads to the conviction of crimes of theft, fire or vandalism of a Farm Bureau member's property. Informants need not be Farm Bureau members to participate.
In the Jensen's case, their brother-in-law's Dodge one-ton pickup truck had been stolen. The Jensen's saw the truck being driven by a young male, and they called the police.
The police were able to locate the truck and the juvenile driving it, and an arrest was made with a conviction following.
Gary Jensen said, "Fuel thefts, livestock shootings, livestock thefts and tool thefts are the crimes most frequently committed against Farm Bureau members. And with the price of fuel, the fuel thefts are on the increase.
People should keep an eye out for their neighbors and report any suspicious activity to the police."
Anyone with information about these types of crimes are encouraged to call
police authorities, then they can report the information to any Farm Bureau insurance agent, or they can call Gary Jensen at 435-851-1374, to qualify for an award check. |
