Harvest Fresh quietly closes Orem store -- Harvest Fresh, a natural foods store in Orem, quietly closed its doors after just three years of being in business.

The 22,000 square-foot Orem store closed in April because it wasn't able to make its monthly lease payments, according to its property manager LB Hunt Management Group in Salt Lake City.

"We're now marketing the retail/office/warehouse space to national and regional users like general retailers, grocers and even larger restaurants," said Troy Hardy, an associate leasing agent for Coldwell Banker in Salt Lake City.

"National retailers that would typically be interested in a 20,000 square-foot plus space are sidelined now by the slower economy. But even though national retail leasing interest has slowed, local and regional retailers are still active and still looking to expand," he said.

It turns out those who believed Utah was immune from the housing crisis were wrong. I foresee a price correction coming soon as the inventory starts exceeding demand.
