Kohl's holding job fair for new Orem store -- Kohl's, a Menomonee Falls, Wis.-based specialty department store chain with eight stores in Utah including one in American Fork, is holding a job fair for its second Utah County store in Orem.
The job fair, scheduled to run Aug. 10-13, hopes to attract 130 workers for the new Orem store, which is expected to open in October.
The department store will take up 90,000 square feet of space at the former Fred Meyer building, located just off University Parkway and 800 East in Orem. Kohl's will share the 175,000 square-foot building with Gold's Gym.
The Orem store will hire associates for cash register operation, department service, customer service, early-morning stocking, truck unloading, housekeeping and evening signage/pricing updates. New hires will receive competitive wages and medical insurance as well as 401(k), employee stock ownership and merchandise discounts.
The job fair will be held from 10:45 a.m.-6:15 p.m. on Aug. 10-11; 8:45 a.m.-4 p.m. on Aug. 13; and 12:15 p.m.-7:30p.m. on Aug. 12 and Aug. 14. Location: Courtyard by Marriott, 1600 N. Freedom Blvd. in Provo.

New assisted living home being built in Payson -- Parkway Health Center, a new assisted living, post-surgical and trauma rehabilitation home, is being built at 55 S. Professional Way in Payson.
To be located near the Mountain View Hospital, the 76-bed skilled nursing home is expected to be completed by May 2009.

Four Strong & Hanni attorneys honored -- Four attorneys with the Salt Lake law firm of Strong & Hanni made the 2008 Mountain States Super Lawyers listing:
Glenn C. Hanni made the listing for Business Litigation. Hanni, who served as deputy attorney for Salt Lake County from 1948-1950, received a B.S. degree in naval science and a J.D. from the University of Utah in 1948. Hanni became a member of the Utah State Bar in 1948; the U.S. District Court, District of Utah and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Tenth Circuit in 1950; and the U.S. Supreme Court in 1971.
Stanford P. Fitts made the list for Construction Litigation. Fitts received his B.A. in finance in 1983, graduating cum laude, and his J.D. in 1986 from the University of Utah, where he was a member of the Utah Law Review. He was also a William H. Leary Scholar and received the American Jurisprudence Award in the area of negligence and liability law. Fitts became a member of the Utah State Bar and the U.S. District Court, District of Utah in 1986; the U.S. Court of Appeals, Tenth and Federal Circuits and U.S. Court of Federal Claims in 1988; the U.S. District Court District of Arizona in 1996; and the Wyoming State Bar in 2004.
The other winners include Graden P. Jackson, who received a B.S. from Brigham Young University in 1995, an M.B.A. from the Daniels College of Business in 1998 and a J.D. from the University of Denver in 1998. Jackson became a member of the Colorado State Bar, the Utah State Bar, the U.S. District Court District of Colorado and District of Utah in 1999.
Bryant J. McConkie received his B.S. in psychology in 1998 from the University of Utah. He received his M.S. in organizational behavior from the University of Hartford in 2001. He received his J.D. in 2004 from Hamline University. Bryant became a member of the Utah State Bar and the U.S. District Court, District of Utah in 2004.
