Richard Lamar (Dick) Nelson, of Lucerne California, past away on Tuesday August 5, 2008. Dick was born on October 4, 1926 in Lehi, Utah and raised in Pleasant Grove, Utah. He retired to Lake County, California in 1977. Dick was a man of integrity and generosity. He was always willing to lend a hand.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years Yvonne and children Vicki, Susan and Richard as well as four grandchildren Jim, Ron, Pam and Jennifer and ten great-grandchildren. His great-grandson, Jason, passed way following birth. Dick's surviving siblings are Phyllis, Anna-Jane, Ross and Judith.

Dick's sister Kathleen preceded him in death.

Always proud of being a hard worker, Dick had operated a small business, retired from the Los Altos, California Fire Department as a Battalion Chief and served in the United States Navy during WWII. He enjoyed fishing, crabbing and clamming. Dick's State of Nevada trophy trout remains on display, at the Lake Topaz Lodge, in Topaz Lake, Nevada where Dick and Yvonne bi-annually vacationed in their beloved trailer. Dick was loved and will be remembered.
