COUNTYWIDE
• The Utah Valley Sierra Forum will host a public discussion today at 7 p.m. on two topics: "Troubled Bridges Over Troubled Water" (Utah Lake) and "Oil Shale or Snake-Oil Shale" in Utah. The Forum will examine environmental impacts of both proposed undertakings. Also, management from the new Spanish Fork Wind Farm plans to be present to answer questions. The discussion will be held at the Provo Library, 550 N. University Ave. For more information, visit UVSF.us.

• Congratulations to Adrian Loza, a student from Timpview High School, on winning this year's Battle for the Billboard campaign.¬ His artwork is being displayed on a billboard in Salt Lake City near I-15 and West Temple.¬

• This fall Hobble Creek Learning Center is offering a variety of educational programs for children of varied ages, educational needs, and interests. The programs are designed primarily for toddlers, preschoolers and elementary students. "Mommy, Monet and Me!" is an introduction to simple art experiences and will be held Monday mornings beginning Sept. 8. "Yoga Momma" is a class for moms and toddlers to work on flexibility, concentration and relaxation. Hobble Creek also offers after school art classes for elementary school-aged children.
