• Join other drug-free supporters in a free seminar presented by Ron Williams at 1 p.m. today at Heritage School's auditorium, 5600 N. Heritage School Drive. Williams is the producer of "Happy Valley," a documentary on Utah's drug culture, and will give participants of the seminar a behind-the-scenes look at his documentary.
• Ride your bike up Provo Canyon today with Ride for Teens to honor struggling teens. Ride for Teens is a community event for bicycle riders of all skill levels to raise awareness of local at-risk youth services. For many riders, the course will run up the Provo Canyon trail to Vivian Park. Experienced cyclists, however, can enjoy 50 miles of climbing Squaw Peak, South Fork and the Alpine Loop, a challenging tri-fork, half-century ride. • The third-annual Midnight Gaming Championship will be at a Provo McDonald's restaurant, 211 W. 1230 North, tonight starting at 5 p.m. Participants age 13 and older can play Guitar Hero III, Madden NFL 08, Super Smash Brothers Brawl or iPlay Bowling for free until 7 p.m., when the tournament begins. • The Krishna Temple at 8628 S. Main St. in Spanish Fork has planned a transcendental birthday party today to celebrate The Appearance Day of Shree Krishna. Starting at 8 p.m. there will be Indian dance, drama, musical concerts, hot meals, exhibits and gifts available to all. This holiday for Hindus compares to Christmas Day. • There will be a car show fundraiser for Capt. Harold Terry of the Lehi Police Department on Aug. 30 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Wines Park, 400 N. Center St. All proceeds will go to help Terry, who was shot during a traffic stop in June.
