Santaquin woman killed in rollover accident Print E-mail
Daily Herald

A Santaquin woman was killed Sunday evening when the car she was a passenger in rolled on State Road 68 between Saratoga Springs and Elberta.

Brenda Vanausdal, 40, was a passenger in a 1998 Dodge Dakota driven by a 53-year-old male from Santaquin, according to UHP spokesman Cameron Roden. The truck was traveling south just before 8 p.m. when they took a turn too fast and ran off the right side of the road. The driver, trying to get back on the road, pulled the truck to the left crossing both lanes. The truck went off the east side of the road and rolled once.

Roden said that the accident showed signs of excess speeds, as well as signs of driver impairment.

Vanausdal was ejected from the vehicle and her arm was severed, Roden said. She died at the scene of the accident.

The driver of the car and another passenger were transferred by ambulance to Mountain View Hospital in Payson.

According to Roden, charges are pending against the driver.
