Police say Gaspar Patino Hidalgo, 48, of American Fork, and his wife have been separated for about a year but have been living in the same house while planning a divorce, according to court documents. Officers interviewed the wife, who said Hidalgo had sexually abused her three times in the last three months and attempted a fourth two days ago, but she evaded him. The family's children told police their parents "have absolutely no affection in their lives anymore." Hidalgo's wife put her husband's belongings on the porch, but according to court documents, he tried to punch her through a partially open sliding glass door and force entry into the house. In a recorded argument, the suspect also threatened to burn the house down with his wife and children in it. |
