OIL SPILL -- One lane of traffic was closed near State Road 75 and 1100 West in Springville Tuesday night after an oil spill. Springville police say a diesel truck was turning left to make a delivery at a nearby business when the driver accidentally drove over a piece of a metal post in the road. The post flipped up under the truck and punctured the fuel tank, spilling 50 to 100 gallons of diesel fuel onto the road. A nearby business had a front loader, allowing police to quickly cover the fuel with sand and avoid any spillage into storm drains. The trucking company's HAZMAT team was called to the scene for cleanup, and no injuries were reported.
