SF Strike 3 cafe w pix Print E-mail
Ashley Harward - Spanish Fork Press

If there's one thing the people of Utah County love, it's baseball. There are the city league teams, the accelerated teams, and coed teams to name just a few of the ways to play the sport.

So when Candace and Lynn Wilson decided to open their own restaurant, 3 Strikes Café, they wanted to capture the heart of baseball and put it into their business. With historic baseball photos, tables painted like baseballs, and the lyrics from Take Me Out To the Ball Game written on their walls the spirit of baseball definitely breaths in the café.

As for the food? What better to serve in a baseball themed café than All American food. "We have, what we call, Home Run Cinnamon Rolls. It's my mom's recipe. She used to make them for Jerry's Dairy Burger Barn. They will be our signature item. If you come at 10:00 am they will be coming fresh out of the oven," says Candace.

All the food will be fresh at 3 Strikes Cafe. They'll serve chicken, steak, salmon, ball park hot dogs, and salads, to name just a few. But that's not all. They will also serve Spotted Dog Ice Cream. It's ice cream that is chef-created and uses only seasonally fresh and all natural ingredients. Spotted Dog Creamery was opened by John Winders in Salt Lake.

3 Strikes Café will open August 30 in Payson. The address is 1138 West 800 South, one block east of Walmart. Café hours will be Monday thru Thursday 10:00 am to 9:00 pm and Friday and Saturday 10:00 am to 10:00 pm.

A new scientific truth does not triumph by convincing its opponents and making them see the light, but rather because its opponents eventually die and a new generation grows up that is familiar with it.
