Change is all around us. It happens constantly in everything we do. It even happens to people. Unfortunately, it's not always a good thing. We all have people very close to us, whose personality we've become accustomed to. These are the people that we share our lives with, who we share our deepest secrets to, who we trust more then anything.

Sometimes the worst change possible happens, something completely disappears. As humans, the objects that we tend to attach ourselves to the most, are other humans. When that something that disappears turns out to be another person, it takes a dramatic toll on those close to him or her. For those with strong attachments, there's suddenly an empty space in their life that they can not fill again. This particular experience will change their personality, however minor, forever.

They get lost in the fact that the person who controlled some of their behavior is suddenly gone. They forget that they are also partially controlling someone else's actions. Therefore, when they change because the person that they loved, changed, they alter the people who love them. Thus, when that one person left, it alters everyone.

As we follow that chain of altering people, it starts to get less and less until finally, it stops affecting others. When you let one person control all of your emotions with every breath they take, you put others at risk of losing you. When I say "losing you" I don't necessarily mean that you've passed away. It could mean, your personality has changed. Your body is still there, but you've become are a completely different person.

Everyone is connected to everyone in one way or another. We all affect each other's º emotions and actions. When one person changes, the rest of us do too. Or, we completely disconnect from each other.

I've seen this happen in my life already. One left due to a horrible accident, but many more followed. And I miss them.
