Highland gets new, luxurious options for storage Print E-mail

There's a new option for storage in Highland.

Called Highland Hideaway Storage, the facility offers 600 self storage units and 200 temperature controlled units. There are plans to add RV and boat parking in mid September.

On-site manager Tami Flinders pointed out some of the benefits to the facility.

"It is important for people to realize we are safe and secure," she said. "This is new, convenient and state of the art."

"We have high tech security," she said. "Each unit is individually alarmed."

In the main office, there is a set of monitors which show the manager the views from each of the wise aisles. Flinders said those aisles make the units more conveniently accessible to the customers. The sizes of the units vary from 5-foot by 5-foot to 12 by 40.

The prices of the units also vary according to size. There are promotional prices while the facility is new. Flinders urged prospective users to call to find out the information.

One of the offers they are running is a $10 discount on an individual's next month storage for referring a friend.

"We offer month-to-month agreements, and both short and long-term," she said. "We are the only storage facility in the Alpine-Highland area." It is on the west side of Sunset Drive, just north of SR-92, near Smith's Marketplace under construction on south side of the highway.

"We are just five minutes off I-15," she said. She said that would make it convenient for individuals from other communities who use the Alpine-Highland freeway interchange for access.

Flinders told about some of the ways renters use the temperature controlled units.

"They can be for antique books, grand pianos, grandfather clocks, antique furniture or film," she said. "There is a person who stores pharmaceutical supplies and samples in one. It is for your sensitive belongings that you don't want the elements to harm. It gives peace of mind to store your items."

In addition to places to store items, Highland Hideaway Storage offers moving supplies.

"We will be selling moving supplies -- boxes, mattress and sofa covers, utility knives, packing tape and shrink wrap," Flinders said.

She stressed the convenience to the public of having on-site managers.

"We have a friendly staff," she said. "We are here to serve the community. I am more than happy to show anybody what we have, or answer their questions."

They also offer two options for insuring the items the customers have stored. They may pay individually or with their rent. The company offers protections for fire, tornado, wind, lightning, smoke, hail, burglary, explosion, vandalism, earthquake, water leaks and building collapse, according to its brochure.
