Aug. 10-16 PROTECTIVE ORDER VIOLATION -- Police responded to complaint for a possible protective order violation in Alpine. After talking with the complainant it was determined that there was a violation of the protective order that is in place. Erica Smith, 35, was arrested and transported to the Utah County Jail. FIREWORKS -- Police were dispatched to Burgess Park in Alpine for a complaint of fireworks going off. Officers would like to remind everyone that it is illegal to light fireworks other than three days before and three days after specified holidays AMERICAN FORK Aug. 17-23 PROTECTIVE ORDER -- A 39-year-old man was arrested for violation a protective order. CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE PROBLEM -- A 39-year-old man was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia. Officers had responded on a family problem and the man was in possession of drug paraphernalia. ASSAULT DOMESTIC VIOLENCE -- A 19-year-old man was arrested for assault domestic violence. The man got into an argument with his sister. During the argument, he hit her and then choked her. CRIMINAL MISCHIEF -- An 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy were arrested for criminal mischief. They had driven their vehicles onto the grass of a local city park, causing damage to the lawn. DISORDERLY CONDUCT -- A 33-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman were arrested for disorderly conduct. The man and woman had been outside a local business and where observed arguing and then physically attacking each other. DISORDERLY CONDUCT -- A 45-year-old man was arrested for disorderly conduct. The man was a tenant at a local hotel. The man was asked to leave because he had been bothering other tenants. When asked to leave by the management he became very upset and started to yell and cause alarm to the tenants and customers. RETAIL THEFT -- A 30-year-old man was arrested for retail theft and false information to a police officer. The man was at a local business and attempted to take a pair of shoes. The man gave officers several different names as to his identity. CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE PROBLEM -- A 25-year-old woman was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, retail theft and two outstanding arrest warrants. The woman had attempted to take clothing items from a local business. She had two warrants for her arrest and was in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE PROBLEM -- A 20-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman were arrested for retail theft after they attempted to change price tags on several items at a local business in an attempt to purchase them at a lower price. ASSAULT -- An 18-year-old man was arrested for assault. The 18-year-old man had gotten into an argument with another man over a girlfriend. During the argument the man grabbed an aluminum pipe and threatened the other man. RETAIL THEFT -- A 38-year-old man was arrested for retail theft after he attempted to take a pair of shoes from a local business. CEDAR FORT Burglary attempt -- Police are investigating a security alarm and attempted break-in at the Cedar Fort Community Center and town offices. Screws had been removed above one of the overhead doors and siding had been pulled back to create an opening. Animal problem -- A man was bitten on the leg by a dog at large. An officer responded to make sure the victim received medical care and locate the dog. EAGLE MOUNTAIN Domestic violence -- Police responded to a 911 call from a child who reported that a man was threatening to kill his mom and the mother's boyfriend. Officers arrived at the home and found the man still holding a knife. They ordered him to drop the knife, which he did, and they arrested him. He was booked into the Utah County Jail and charged with violation of a protective order, five counts of domestic violence in the presence of a child, aggravated assault, domestic violence aggravated assault, aggravated burglary with a deadly weapon, aggravated kidnapping, domestic violence kidnapping, and domestic violence criminal mischief. FAIRFIELD ATV accident -- A 7-year-old riding a four wheeler in the Five-Mile Pass area hit a bump and hit his face into the handlebars. Police and emergency medical personnel responded. The victim needed stitches to close a cut on his chin. CEDAR HILLS TRAFFIC ACCIDENT -- Officers responded to a traffic accident involving injuries. A vehicle was southbound on Redwood Drive traveling at a high rate of speed. It veered off the road to the right at Sage Circle and traveled through two yards, hitting two utility boxes and then a parked vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was transported to a local hospital for abdominal pain. TRAFFIC ACCIDENT -- Officers responded to a traffic accident at 4000 Bayhill Drive. Two vehicles were involved and one had rear ended the other. BURGLARY -- Officers responded to a residential burglary where a purse and golf clubs were taken. VEHICLE BURGLARY -- Officers responded to a report of a vehicle burglary. The window of the vehicle was broken out and a laptop computer and I-pod where taken. LINDON Vehicle burglary -- On Aug. 20 a purse was reported stolen from a vehicle. Controlled substance problem -- On Aug. 20, an individual reported heroin found in bedroom of son's friend who is staying with her until he gets his own apartment. Reporting party found white powder in a baggie and aluminum foil package. Boy's parents confirmed son has drug addiction. Also suspect information as to where heroin was obtained. DUI -- A man suspected of driving under the influence hit a parked car Aug. 23. He then headed southbound. Witnesses said the driver was a Hispanic man in GEO Storm. He turned into church parking lot, then left car and took off on foot, hopping a fence. The man was wearing a brown T-shirt and jeans. Theft -- Reporting party sent an iPod to be repaired at local business. Reporting party said on Aug. 19 that services were already paid for. Has been unable to make contact with company and iPod has not been returned. Delayed theft -- On Aug. 23, an individual reported three bicycles and a scooter stolen from his front lawn. All four belong to separate owners. LEHI FAMILY PROBLEM -- Police were called to a family dispute between a father and son on Aug. 16. Dad threw a belt buckle at the son, hitting him in the stomach. Dad went to a motel for the night. TOBACCO PROBLEM -- A juvenile boy was cited into Juvenile Court on Aug. 16 for possession of tobacco by a minor. DISORDERLY CONDUCT -- Two men were cited with disorderly conduct on Aug. 16. One man was also cited with criminal mischief. SUSPICIOUS -- An individual missing from the State Mental Hospital was transported to American Fork on Aug. 12 and released to the security guards who will return him to the hospital. THEFT -- On Aug. 12, two juvenile boys were cited for theft of an iPod from the Legacy Center. The iPod was located and returned to the rightful owner. DUI -- A woman was cited with leaving the scene of an accident, open container, and DUI on Aug. 11 following a traffic accident, TRAFFIC OFFENSE -- A juvenile boy was cited on Aug. 11 for running a stop sign, no driver's license, and no insurance. The vehicle was impounded. PLEASANT GROVE VEHICLE BURGLARY -- On Aug. 18, a vehicle burglary was reported. Taken were prescribed Hydrocodone, accessory CD's valued at $2,000; clothing and golf shoes. THEFT -- On Aug. 21, a theft of golf clubs valued at $1,800 was reported. DUI -- A man was stopped in the parking lot of Smith's Food King after he was reported as being a reckless driver by a fellow motorist. As a report of the Aug. 19 police investigation, the man was arrested for DUI. He was taken to the police station where he was later released with a citation. His vehicle was impounded. CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE PROBLEM -- A report of a traffic offense on Aug. 18 resulted in two men being arrested, one on drug charges and the other on traffic violations. The one man was released on a citation. The other was booked into the Utah County jail. CRIMINAL MISCHIEF -- On Aug. 24, officers responded to a juvenile problem. Criminal mischief had occurred on two separate occasions. The juvenile was given a citation and released into the custody of his foster parents. A MP3 player and accessory DVD was stolen and recovered. CRIMINAL MISCHIEF -- Two reports of vehicles being egged were taken on Aug. 23. THEFT -- The theft of a credit card resulted in the arrest of one man on Aug. 21. The card had been taken and used for purchases and then returned to the owner by a man. Upon investigation, it was learned the man was responsible for stealing and using the card. He was issued a citation for theft of a credit card and unlawful use of a credit card times four. VEHICLE BURGLARY -- On Aug. 19, an unidentified man was seen in the victims car which was parked in her garage. The man was chased by the victim and was last seen leaving in a white Pontiac Bonneville. WIRE THEFT -- Several hundred feet of extension cords and power lines were cut and stolen from the Hee Haw farm. Reported on Aug. 20, value of the wire is estimated at $8,000. DUI -- A Aug. 23 traffic stop for an equipment violation, resulted in the arrest of the 18-year-old male driver for DUI. Passengers in the vehicle were cited for illegal consumption. |
