Just in time for fresh peaches, school starts up again.
At Pleasant Grove High School everyone as had to deal with some major adjustments. As the Alpine School District bond funding continues to pay for construction on the high school, it has become apparent that we will be schooling with construction workers for the first few months. It will be hard to avoid many construction zones, such as the school library and the auditorium stage. Not only has it been hard on the students, but those working on rebuilding the school, too. During the summer they had free rein over all of the hallways. Once school started, there have been students walking through the halls all day long. Working in the same area can be a challenge, but everyone is trying their hardest to make the best out of this situation. Students are working hard to stay clear of work zones, and some of the construction workers have been kind enough to park down at the pool. We all know that in the end, this project will be one of the greatest things to happen in Pleasant Grove. Another challenge that high school students are faced with is the fact that we come from two different junior high schools. This first week of school the Student Council has done its best to create a unity that will soon be known as Viking Pride. Throughout this week there have been many lunch time activities and spirit games to get the pride juices flowing. On Friday there was a big welcome back assembly, consisting of many school clubs showing off what they got. With the talent and dedication we saw, the Vikings are in for a great year. |
