Jody Lynn Cook Shumway, 41, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family August 23, 2008 in the American Fork Hospital. She was born August 31, 1966 in American Fork, Utah the daughter of Lynn Humphries and Jule Anne Larsen Cook.

She married Scott Allridge Shumway April 19, 1985 in American Fork, their marriage was later solemnized in the Provo LDS Temple. Jody was a graduate of American Fork High School. She taught dance for 20 years and was well loved by her students. She was a substitute teacher for Alpine School District. She loved baseball and all sports, and was a great supporter of her children in all their activities. She loved spending time with her nieces and nephews.

Survivors include her four children: Jason, Jordan, James, and Jana Lynn Shumway; parents Lynn and Jule Anne Cook, four brothers and two sisters, Gary (Anne) Nez, Bruce (Taunya) Cook; Brent Cook; Brian (Tori) Cook; Jenica (Jon) Hafen; Jeana (Clint) Fackrell; 21 nieces and nephews; grandfather Jack E. Larsen; grandmother Deneice Cook; her mother-in-law, Norma Shumway, and her in-laws, Larry (Jerri) Shumway; Janice (Larry) Davenport; Lynette (Ken) Barrington; Mike (Janet) Shumway.

Preceded in death by her husband, Scott Allridge Shumway, and her sister Jana Cook.

Funeral services will be held Thursday August 28, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the Highland 30th Ward, 9600 North 6800 West. Friends may call Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North, American Fork and Thursday at the church from 9:45 to10:45 a.m. prior to the services.
