Pleasant Grove Jr. High

School pictures -- School pictures will be taken on Aug. 28-29.

Magazine drive -- Our school fundraiser, a magazine drive, will begin on Sept. 3 with a kickoff assembly. People who are interested in getting a good deal on great magazines are encouraged to sign up with a Jr. High student.

Play auditions -- Auditions for "This is a Test" a one-act comedy, will be held in the drama room (#211) on Sept. 3 after school. Prepare a short comic monologue or prepared to read from the script.

School-Community Council meeting -- The school-community council will meet on Sept. 3 at 3 p.m. in the conference room.

Oak Canyon Jr. High

Welcome week -- Welcome back to school and enjoy some fun activities the week of Sept. 2 - 5. Remember to follow the dress code. Tuesday: Dress in your favorite Olympic sport. There will be an Olympic relay during lunch. Wednesday: Dress up Hawaiian. During lunch you can try the hula hoop and see if you survive the limbo. Thursday: Dress like your favorite celebrity and sing some Karaoke during lunch. Friday: Enjoy some great tunes and an Otter Pop during lunch. There will be a dance in the gym from 2:30-3:30 for all grades.

Manila Elementary

Dream, Reach, Succeed -- Our school theme this year is "Dream, Reach, Succeed." "It is my vision that we will give challenges to each child to help them grow and that we will give support to keep each child motivated to learn. I am confident that we can take each student to a higher level so they can Dream, Reach, and Succeed," said Dr. Nancy Sorensen, Manila principal.

Sally Foster fundraiser -- Our Sally Foster fundraiser has begun and continues through Sept. 5. There will be an ice cream party for the top seller in each class, and the top-selling class will have a donut party.

Grovecrest Elementary

Walk Your Child to School Day -- Join in our safety week activities by walking to school with your child on Friday, Aug. 29. This is a great opportunity to teach and remind safety as children walk, bike, or scooter to school.

Fund Raiser begins -- Our school Sally Foster and Cookie Dough fundraiser kicks off on Sept. 2. Orders need to be turned in by Sept. 16.

Community Council meeting -- Our school community council will meet on Sept. 3 at 11 a.m.. Everyone is invited.

PTA meeting -- Our PTA will meet on Sept. 3 at 12 Noon. All parents are invited to attend.

Book club parent meeting -- A parent meeting will be held today at 4:30 p.m. for parents interested in participating in our monthly before-school book club.

Back to School Night -- Our Back to School Night will be held tonight at the school from 5-7 p.m. Note the following schedule 5 p.m.: K-3 classrooms open for visits; 5:30 p.m.: K-6 classrooms open; 6 p.m.: PTA Parent Meeting (all parents invited); 6:40 p.m.: 4-6 classrooms open for visits.

Mt. Mahogany Elementary

Join PTA -- Parents are encouraged to join PTA by Sept. 30. Help support your school! We will have a PTA board meeting on Sept. 5 at 10:15 a.m.

Box top drive -- Our fall box top drive is under way. "Box tops for Education" can be found on hundreds of products. Bring them in to our school office.

Central Elementary

Save Box Tops -- Bring your specially marked "Boxtops for Education," Campbell's Soup Labels, and Macey's grocery receipts to our school and help us raise much-needed funds for our students.

Recycle -- We're participating in "Cartridge for Kids" and will be recycling old cell phones and printer and toner cartridges at the school. A depository is by the office. You can also recycle your plastic shopping bags here.

School fundraisers -- Our school fundraiser is under way. Happenings Books and Sally Foster products are available from students or at the school office. The fundraiser continues until Sept. 10.

Valley View Elementary

Spirit Day -- Remember that every Friday is Spirit Day! Show your school spirit by wearing your school T-shirt on Fridays.

Fundraisers begin -- Help our school raise funds by saving your Macey's grocery store receipts and "Box Tops for Education" box tops. Macey's receipts dated from this summer are valid for this school year. Send them with a student or bring them to our office.

Lindon Elementary

Spirit Days -- Every Tuesday is Spirit Day. Wear your school T-shirt or school colors (blue and white) to show your school spirit.

Five Dollar Card Fundraiser -- Buy a Five Dollar Card and receive discounts at local restaurants such as Hogi Yogi, Italian Place, Subway, Carl's Jr. The cards are available at the office through Sept. 5.

Rocky Mountain Elementary

Back to School Night -- Tonight from 6-8 is Back to School night. Don't miss this opportunity to meet your students' teachers and receive important information.

Friendship Week -- Sept. 2-5 is Friendship Week. The PTA will hold special friendship activities and events all week long.

Room Parents Tea -- All room parents are invited to come on Wed. Sept. 3, from 3:30-4 p.m. in the media center.

Aspen Elementary

Hearing Screening -- Hearing screenings for students in grades K, 1, and 3 will be held on Sept. 2
