RE: "Mayor foretells traffic debacle:" Lehi has no one to blame but themselves. By blocking development and infrastructure, access to I-15 from the West as well as North-South access, drivers are forced to use 2-lane back roads or Main Street through downtown Lehi.

Their unwillingness to allow or support change as well as their unwillingness to work with surrounding communities has placed Lehi in an untenable situation. FrontRunner and other services of UTA will appeal to many communities in Utah County, but Lehi blocks access.

Lehi needs to move out of the 18th century and consider their neighbors and communities to the North, South, East and West. If they were to appeal to surrounding communities such a Saratoga Springs, American Fork, Bluffdale and Eagle Mountain; stop blocking freeways and freeway access, perhaps they would not find themselves in the predicament they are in.

I thought Lehi constructed the on/off ramp by the Lehi Roller Mills to stimulate businesses and generate growth, taxes, etc., several years ago.

It seems to me they were successful beyond their expectations and, alas, they failed to consider all of the ramifications of unbridled growth.

Pick your poison - grow and have growing pains or stay stagnant and watch everyone else outpace you.

Other cities already are taking away from Lehi's tax base. American Fork's meandows shopping center and Saratoga Spring's Crossing area will both generate huge amounts of revenue that Lehi passed up on.
