2nd out-of-state teen dropped at Omaha hospital |

OMAHA, Neb. -- Nebraska officials say a Michigan mom drove roughly 12 hours to Omaha, so she could abandon her 13-year-old son under the state's unique safe-haven law.
Todd Landry with the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services said Monday afternoon that he's not sure whether the family tried to get help in Michigan before deciding to abandon the boy.
Landry says there was no sign the boy was in immediate danger. The family also doesn't appear to have any ties to Nebraska.
The boy from the Detroit area is the second teenager from outside Nebraska and 18th child overall abandoned in the state since the law took effect in July.
