At least part of the charm of Lehi's newest Thai restaurant is the idea of dining in what used to be a house.

The large home on Main Street that used to be a Mexican restaurant is now Thai House Cuisine. The restaurant's waiting area is in one room, the kitchen in another, and tables fill a couple more. There are just four or five tables in each room, so that and the Thai decorations covering the walls make for a cozier setting than you'll find in most places.

The food doesn't disappoint either. We finished every last drop of the Mussaman Curry with chicken. The flavors of coconut milk and curry go together perfectly and the chicken and vegetables in the sauce were tender. (OK, so it's one of our favorite Thai dishes. But if you like that sort of thing, the version at Thai House certainly hits the spot.) Just be careful when using the hotness scale: mild, medium, hot, hotter, hottest. We ordered medium, but it was hot enough to singe our tonsils.

Of course we tried the Pad Thai, that signature Thai dish made with noodles, chicken, green onions and chopped peanuts. The portion was plenty and the dish was full of flavor.

For something with a milder flavor, we recommend the Moo Tod Katiam, or garlic pork. The pork was sliced thin and covered in a simple ginger sauce. Somehow, it was slightly crunchy on the outside (Pan fried? A very light batter?) and tender on the inside (good quality pork). We liked the simplicity of the flavor and the interesting texture of the meat.

To drink, Thai House serves iced tea, coconut juices, lychee and soft drinks. We tried a Thai Lemonade, which is a somewhat deceiving title. It's a sweet drink made with lime and mint, which made for an interesting flavor. If you like the mint thing, you could try the Minty Shrimp and Salmon.

There are a few things on the menu that we weren't brave enough to try, having never heard of them before. For example, there's a salad called Beef Waterfall. There's also a Thai Doughnut (Kai Hong Fah) made with rice flour and sesame and stuffed with sweetened beans.

Thai House also serves a weekday lunch special for $6.99 from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
