Sherman Emery Huff

1937 ~ 2011

Sherman Emery Huff, our loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle, passed away on September 14, 2011.

Sherman was born on November 8, 1937 to Archie and Lucile Emery Huff in Spanish Fork, Utah. He was raised in Benjamin, Utah. He married the love of his life, Bonnie Larsen on January 26, 1961 in the Salt Lake Temple.

Sherman graduated from Snow College and attended Brigham Young University. He also served in the United States Army. He served a faithful mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the North Central States mission. He was employed for 35 years as President of Pacific Horizon Credit Union in Springville, Utah.

Sherman was a member of the Spanish Fork City Council for eight years, a member of the Planning and Zoning Committee and member of the South Utah Valley Solid Waste District Board for six years. His favorite community service was spent working with the youth sports program. He worked with the Little League Baseball Program for over 20 years, including two years as President of the UBBA. Sherman and Bonnie were honored as the Grand Marshalls of the Fiesta Days celebration in 2011. At the time of his death he was a member of the Spanish Fork City Choir.

Sherman was an obedient son of his Father in Heaven. He served in many church callings including, Bishop of the 6th Ward, First Counselor in the Spanish Fork West Stake Presidency, member of a Branch Presidency at the Missionary Training Center, and member of the Branch Presidency at the Utah County Jail. He and Bonnie spent the last several years of his life serving in a missionary capacity at the LDS Conference Center in Salt Lake City. His service touched the lives of many and he will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his loving wife Bonnie, one daughter and four sons, Becky (Delynn) Rodeback Alpine, UT, Ross (Michelle) Huff, Riverton UT, Scott (Jeniffer) Huff, Spanish Fork, UT, Lynn (Jannifer) Huff, Pleasant Grove, UT and Alan Huff, Spanish Fork, UT. His siblings, Paul (Jerri Ann) Huff, West Jordan, UT, twin sister Sharon (Eldon) Willes, Pleasant Grove, UT, Keith (Priscilla) Huff, Taylorsville, UT, David (Coleen) Huff, Benjamin, UT and sister-in-law Colleen Huff, Spanish Fork, UT. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Marlin Huff. He also leaves behind 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grand children.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, September 19, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Spanish Fork West Stake Center Chapel, 360 North 650 West, Spanish Fork, Utah. Viewings will be held on Sunday evening, September 18, 2011 at Walker Funeral Home, 187 S. Main Street, Spanish Fork, and on Monday morning at the church from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Spanish Fork City Cemetery.
