Blake Quentin Benson

1960 ~ 2014

Blake Quentin Benson was born October 17, 1960 in Wurzberg, Germany. Blake passed away on January 16, 2014 at his home in Provo, Utah. Blake graduated in 1976 from Elgin High School in Elgin, Oklahoma. He was active in scouting, enjoyed camping, and loved playing with his nieces and nephews. Blake spent the last thirty years or more living "One day at a time" promoting recovery. He held multiple positions within the NA organization in Utah and was a loved sponsor and mentor to many who became cherished members of Blake's extended family and support system. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Charla and Gene Benson; his brother, Steven Benson, and his grandparents.

He is survived by his father and stepmother, Don and Saundra Merrick of Lawton, OK; his sister, Linda Benson of Las Vegas, NV; his sister and brother-in-law, Michelle and Dave McCord of Port Burwell, Ontario, Canada; his sister and brother-in-law, Donnine and Felix Pantoja of Rio Rancho, NM; his sister Terra Merrick of Key West, FL; his brother and sister-in-law, Brian and Sisi Benson of Orem, UT; many loved nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog, Fred.

Cremation services were provided by Walker Sanderson Funeral Home. Memorial Services will be held on January 25, 2014 at the LDS Chapel, Relief Society Room, 50 South 800 East, Orem, UT.

Oklahoma graveside memorial services are pending. Blake's ashes will be brought back to Oklahoma where he will be laid to rest near his parents.
