Donald B. Fannin, 84, of Spanish Fork, Utah passed away on January 11, 2018. Donald was born on November 3, 1933 in Salmon, Idaho to Casper Fannin and Venna Broadbent Fannin. He graduated from high school in California, and then joined the air force at the age of 17.
On February 28, 1957 he married Lois Patricia Hart Fannin. Together they had Michael Don Fannin, Kerry Lyn Fannin (Randy Spadafora) and Nannette Despain (Kerry).
Dad did anything it took to provide for his family. He was a floor covering expert, but not limited to that. He loved any renovation project and believed that was a big part of who he was. He worked on the Peteetneet renovations. He loved Scouting and made many trips to the Uintahs with his Ventures. His Scouts built a house boat that they named “Don’s Ark” when they lived in CA. In 1973 the family moved to Utah where they have lived since.
Dad loved airplanes, boats, horses and anything that required work. He loved cars and taking queens in parades. His motto was: “We work hard to play hard.”
Don was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served 3 missions with his wife, Pat. He had a strong relationship with Heavenly Father. His faith is what carried him through some very hard times.
He is survived by his wife, Lois Patricia Hart Fannin, 2 daughters, Kerry Fannin (Randy Spadafora), and Nannette Despain (Kerry), 12 grandchildren and 31 great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister Mary Lee Meaker and a younger brother Dale Poulsen (Suzanne), Larry Poulsen (the late Maclovia).
Donald was preceded in death by a son, Michael Don Fannin, his brother George Poulsen (Elaine) and Melvin Jay Poulsen.
