Max Ralph Shell, age 74, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2018, surrounded by his family.
He was born September 22, 1943 in Payson, Utah, son of George W. Shell Sr. and Elfreda Olive Limb Shell. He married the love of his life, Sandi P. Whiting, on June 14, 1963 in Payson, Utah. They were later sealed in the Timpanogos Temple on March 31, 2009. Together they had four children.
Max was a Miner, Boiler Maker for Local 454 and then an Iron Worker for Local 27. Max and Sandi travelled and made magnetic jewelry which they sold at festivals all over. He loved the outdoors, spending time with friends and family, BBQs, and spending time with his granddaughters and great-grandsons. Max and Sandi loved going out dancing, for which they won many awards.
He is survived by his wife, Sandi; sons, Mike (Leah) Shell and Troy (Beverly) Shell; siblings, Jack, Sylvia, and Verla; 5 granddaughters and 4 great-grandsons. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Robbie; daughter, Wendy and his siblings, Golda, Dolly, and George W. Shell Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at the Timpview 2nd Ward Chapel, 1240 North 950 West, Orem, Utah. Friends may call at the Berg Mortuary of Orem, 500 North State Street, Tuesday, January 16, from 6-8:00 p.m. and at the church Wednesday, from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to services.
