If you clicked to the appropriate disambiguation page on Wikipedia, you might read that "the term 'Secret Garden' may refer to a novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett or a song by Bruce Springsteen," but there are quite a few secret gardens right here in Utah County. Maybe just down the street from where you live.
The curious will have an ideal opportunity to experience some of the most unique and best-tended private gardens in Utah Valley this weekend during the 13th Annual Hidden Garden Benefit Tour. Tickets for the two-day event, which runs from noon to 8 p.m. on Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, are $13 per person if purchased in advance (individual tickets are required for all participants age 2 and older), or $16 if purchased on Friday or Saturday.
All proceeds from the Hidden Garden tour benefit programs at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center. The tour raised approximately $16,000 in 2007.
Participants can visit the gardens during the hours of the tour, participate in morning gardening workshops and will be entered in various prize drawings. There is live entertainment at some gardens. Additional information about the tour is available online, at hiddengarden.org/hgbt/, or by phone, at 357-7600.
