LINDON -- In "Jake's Corner," "Big Al" Stavaleno and his mob try to intimidate Jake Grody into buying "protection" insurance as he tries to get ready for the big opening of his new speakeasy (the "Jake's Corner" of the title).

Jake's Chorus Girls, three unshakable flappers, dressed to the "T" in 1920s fashion, continue to practice their perky flapper songs and dance steps despite the damage Stavaleno's two-bit gangsters, Chuck Hall and Pockets Holiday, do to the place. Just as Chuck and Pockets think they may be getting somewhere, Susan McQueen, a small-town girl with a great big voice, shows up and teaches Chuck a thing or two. Nellie the cleaning lady has a big secret -- until Steve the bartender overhears, but promises to keep quiet, at least until opening night.

Cast members include Mike Gray, Bruce Conrad, Stephanie Gray, Camille Gray, Amanda Wride, Glen Pratt, J.C. Carter, Rachel Howe, Marlene Arnold, Ken Norris, Josh Gray, Tyler Renstrom, Lola Taylor, Leitha Harvey and Douglas Dial.

"Jake's Corner" was written by Jody Renstrom and is directed by Joseph Sorensen. It is appropriate for families, but children under 5 (including babies) are not allowed.
