Bonus Adventure Kids
The Heber Valley Railroad's Haunted Canyon train ride was fun, once it was over. During the ride I actually got VERY scared!
If you go this weekend, be sure to go early. We were there a half-hour before the train left and there was already a huge line. The good thing is, you can get a hot chocolate or hot cider to drink or a snack while you're waiting. I convinced my mom to buy me a glow necklace, too.
The train is an old-style, with cool seats that move. The creaking noises make the ride even scarier in the dark. You can sit inside or out. I'd suggest you sit inside the train if you aren't wearing really warm clothes.
During the ride the conductors tell "true" stories about the haunted canyon. If you look out your windows, you might even see the ghosts. Beware of brides killed on their wedding day, prisoners from the old canyon jail and even a scary cat lady!
Beware of your ride back to the station: The ghosts you see just might find their way onto the train!
