Several Utah County cities will be holding primary elections Tuesday to narrow the list of candidates before the general election.
Eagle Mountain, Highland, Lehi, Orem, Payson, Pleasant Grove, Provo, Mapleton, Elk Ridge, Springville, Spanish Fork and Woodland Hills will be participating.
Various city council seats and mayoral positions are up for grabs, including the position of mayor in Mapleton. Mayor Jim Brady will not be running for re-election, but his wife Laurel Brady will be running against Stan Sorensen and Ann Tolley.
In Provo, four city council seats are open, with 11 total candidates.
Eagle Mountain's three city council seats will be contested between 11 candidates, while three fight for the mayoral vote.
