EPHRAIM-- "Short Stories: Sanpete County" is an installation of photographs documenting locations and/or objects found in Sanpete County by artists Joe Ostraff, John Telford, and Paul Adams. The exhibit runs from April 10 - May 6 at the Central Utah Art Center, 86 North Main, Ephraim.

The opening reception will be held Friday, April 10, from 6 - 8 p.m. Gallery hours are Tuesday - Friday 11 a.m. - 6 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Each photo in the collection serves as evidence that something has taken place. The intention is to uncover the stories behind the occurrence.

Each site was photographed in the round on the eight points of the compass and compiled to create a sequential effect that moves the viewer around the subject.

A blog with still images of each subject will be created and made accessible to residents of the county and visitors to the art center, allowing them to tell their story in relationship to each subject. It is the compilation of these stories that are sought and the potential for community dialogue.

Kids perspective

As a part of CUAC art education programming CUAC invited every elementary school student in the county to participate in this important event. CUAC provided cameras and digital audio recorders and asked the children to capture an image and sound that represents an aspect of where they live.

All images and sounds will be on display in the CUAC's main gallery.

The opening reception will be held Friday, April 10, from 6 - 8 p.m.
