New medium available for Utah Senate updates

SALT LAKE CITY -- The Utah Senate is going high-tech with news updates of its 2008 legislative work.
"Senate Mobile" will provide free up-to-the-minute text message updates on changes to bills, votes and other topics to subscribing cell phone users.
Senate communications consultant Michael Castner says the service is designed to keep citizens better informed about the workings of government. A simple text message of "senate" sent to 83043 sets up the service.
The Senate also has a YouTube channel that posts daily video updates.
