COUNTYWIDE
• Those who served on the DD 748 U.S.S. Harry E. Hubbard, a Navy destroyer, are invited to a reunion to be held in Baltimore, Md., April 17-20.
The reunion chairman, Mike Caruccio, has lost some of the names and addresses of members in the Utah County area, and is requesting that members contact him to attend the reunion.
The event is for anyone who served aboard the ship, regardless of when they served, and any surviving family members.

OREM
• Allstate agent Steven Ibarra received the Agency Hands in the Community award from The Allstate Foundation for his commitment to helping others.
The award comes with a $500 grant from the Allstate Foundation. Ibarra is a volunteer for All Pro Dad, a group that organizes father-child events. The grant money will be used to further that organization's cause.
• Dean Duncan of BYU's film department will discuss representations of women in feature films at 7 p.m. today in the media auditorium at the Orem Public Library, 56 N. State St.
From the damsels of the silent era to the women of the 1960's to today, Duncan will demonstrate how Hollywood's females have changed.
PROVO
• A series of free classes in connection with the Utah State Extension Center about health, nutrition and exercise continues at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the Provo City Library, 550 N. University Ave., Room 309.
The topic this Tuesday is fitness. Anyone who is interested in living healthily is invited to the class.
• Grandview Elementary School will close its doors after 58 years at the end of this school year. Former teachers, students and friends of the school are invited to send their memories of Grandview to remembergrandview@hotmail.com. Also, there will be an open house from 6-7:30 p.m. on May 8 in honor of the school.
• Spring cleanup Dumpsters will be available in the coming months to help residents de-clutter. There will be sets of Dumpsters for general trash, organic materials (yard waste) and metals at various locations.
Dumpsters will be at 430 W. 500 North (North Park) from Monday through April 19, 1020 S. 1100 West (church parking lot) from Monday through Wednesday, and 600 W. 300 South (church parking lot) from Thursday through April 19.
Unacceptable items include rocks, tires, concrete, tree stumps or pesticides. The hours the containers will be available are Mondays from noon to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. All locations will be closed nightly.
Residents can also take their organic yard waste to the compost station located at 1625 S. Industrial Parkway. There is no charge to bring secured loads into the station. Residents also can take debris directly to the transfer station in Springville free of charge.
The transfer station does not accept all items. If you have a question about your load, call the station at 489-3027 or the Provo City Sanitation Department at 852-6714. All loads to the transfer station must be covered to avoid a $4 tarp fee.
