PEDESTRIAN IDENTIFIED -- A Salt Lake City man who died late Saturday while trying to cross State Street in Orem has been identified as Alma Brown, age 65. Orem police said Brown could not find a place to put his stretch limousine at event parking and instead parked at another location on the other side of State Street at about 1650 S. State Street. After parking the limo, Brown attempted to cross State Street in the middle of the block at 7 p.m. without the aid of a crosswalk or traffic signal, police said. As he crossed to the west side of the road, cars in the inside and middle lanes of southbound traffic stopped to allow Brown to cross. A driver of a car traveling in the outside lane of traffic did not see Brown, who was killed on impact. The 27-year-old driver of the vehicle was not injured, and no citations have been issued.
