Former Provo councilman Gordon Bullock has sung at many funerals but now his tenor voice will be heard at his own.

Glenda Bullock, his wife of 30 years, said Gordon's voice will sing out once more, but this time on tape, singing "Smile," "In the Garden" and "You'll Never Walk Alone."

Bullock died on July 15 because of a sudden heart attack at the age of 69. He's survived by his wife, four children, three stepchildren and 15 grandchildren.

His won't be the only voice singing at the services, though.

"Our ward choir insisted on singing at his funeral," said Glenda, a member of the Provo Grandview 4th Ward. "They're leaving a space for him."

Bullock sung in his ward choir as well as in several other choirs in the community.

He served as the manager and executive vice president of the Provo Chamber of Commerce from 1973 to 1980 and was a member of the Provo Municipal Council from 1973 to 1979. Since 1991 he has been an agent at Century 21 Bushnell Real Estate.

"He was very community-service oriented," Glenda said. "He took care of everyone but himself. It was just the kind of man he was."

Glenda said he enjoyed being connected to the community and was involved in the Utah County Boys Club, Miss Provo Pageant and the Miss Utah Pageant.

He was family oriented, too. Glenda said he was a very attentive man who loved his grandchildren.

"He was a very special grandfather," she said.

His son, Craig, said he was the most patient man he knew.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Provo Grandview East Stake Center, 1081 W. 1060 North, Provo.

A viewing will be held today at Berg Mortuary, 185 E. Center St., Provo, from 6-8 p.m. There will also be a viewing at the church from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to the services.
