MT. PLEASANT-- A new Miss Mt. Pleasant royalty will be selected Saturday, March 21, at 7 p.m., at North Sanpete High School. The theme for 2009 is "Timeless." Five lovely young ladies will vie for the scholarship and title.

Chante Birch

Chante Birch, daughter of Troy and Lori Birch, will play a piano solo entitled, "Moonlight Fantasy." Her platform is keeping our pioneer heritage.

Jori Davis

Jori Davis, daughter of Rick and Jody Allred; and Jeff Davis, will perform a dance routine. Her platform is the education on the importance of organ donation.

Lacey Leonora Burch

Lacey Leonora Mayburch, daughter of Dalene Burch, will do a patriotic reading. Her platform is being excited to learn.

Stephanie Leon

Stephanie Leon, daughter of Sconevion Aduavo and Ruven Leon, will perform a dance. Her platform is latinos in action.

Jessica Peel

Jessica Peel, daughter of David and Joan Peel will will perform a clogging routine. Her platform is educating people on the dangers of second-hand smoke.

Amanda Stewart

Amanda Stewart, daughter of Michael and Rhonda Stewart will read the poem, "The Three Little Pigs" by Roald Dahl. Her platform is establishing "My Stuff Bags Foundation," which would provide every child entering foster care.

The evening will be filled with entertainment by reigning Miss Mt. Pleasant Whitney Ison, Dynamic Dance Company, Miss Utah 2008 Kayla Barclay, Miss Utah 1989 Jackie Martineau and Miss Utah USA 1989 Debra Robertson.

The doors will open at 6:30 p.m., and the audience will be able to meet Barclay before the pageant.

There is a small admission cost, with discounts available to North Sanpete High School students with an activity card.
