THEFT -- A man was arrested in Provo on Wednesday after attempting to steal food from a grocery store. According to a police affidavit, Chris Bigler was seen in the Reams grocery store at 890 W. Center St. hiding steak and hamburger buns down his pants. A store employee reportedly told Bigler to put the items back, but Bigler tried to run out of the grocery store. The employee tackled the man to the ground and held him until police arrived; he then let Bigler up. Responding officers told Bigler to get on the ground, but he allegedly would not cooperate. When asked if he had any weapons, Bigler said he did not. However, officers reportedly found a folding knife in his waistband, at which point Bigler reportedly sighed and said, "Good search." While being booked in jail, Bigler was found to have a handcuff key in his mouth. Bigler allegedly told officers he was going to try and unlock his handcuffs before they could get him into the jail.

ASSAULT --- Jacob Shaver, 23, was arrested Wednesday after allegedly threatening his mother with a knife. According to police reports, Shaver held a knife toward his mother's face in her bathroom and threatened to cut and punch her. Shaver allegedly told her he was going to make her bleed all over. He then reportedly took the knife and punched the wall in the hallway, leaving several holes. According to the report, Shaver told his mother that is what her face would look like if he punched her with the knife.

UNLAWFUL SEX -- A 30-year-old Orem woman was arrested Wednesday after police discovered she became pregnant by a 15-year-old boy. The woman was reportedly staying with the boy's family while her estranged husband was serving in Iraq. The boy and the woman reportedly admitted to having sexual relations multiple times, including when her 4-year-old son was sleeping in the same room. The crimes were discovered when the woman had a gynecological exam performed and she told the doctor a 15-year-old boy was the father of the 16-week-old fetus.

STRANDED HIKER RESCUED -- An unidentified hiker stuck on Y Mountain was rescued on Thursday night. Rescuers sent out a helicopter to rescue the hiker, according to a Provo police dispatcher.
