MT. PLEASANT-- Once again unpredictable spring weather has caused the cancellation of an outdoor event. The Mt. Pleasant Sesquicentennial Kite Flying Contest was cancelled due to snowfall.
The kite flying contest will be held immediately following the Annual Easter Egg Hunt, Saturday, April 11, at 11 a.m., at the Mt. Pleasant City Park.
There will be a grand prize for the best homemade kite. There will also be lots of candy, prizes and refreshments.
Kites are available at area stores for a nominal fee. If a child or their family is unable to afford a kite, call Mt. Pleasant City Councilperson Coleen Oltrogge at 435-462-3034 and arrangements will be made to provide one.
