• Host families are needed to care for high school exchange students from around the world for the 2008-2009 school year. These pre-screened students speak English and have their own insurance and spending money. Families provide a loving environment, meals and a bedroom. Host families may be married, single, retired, have small children, teens, or no children at all. Host families are not compensated but may be able to claim a $50-per-month charitable contribution on their income tax. For more information, contact one of the non-profit hosting agencies below:

PAYSON

• Openings for Scouts from the Utah National Parks Council to attend the 2010 National Jamboree are filling up fast. To ensure that many Scouts from the Payson, Elk Ridge and Santaquin areas attend, an informational recruitment rally for interested Scouts and their parents will be held today at 7 p.m. at the Payson LDS Stake Center, 650 W. 800 South. The next National Jamboree is scheduled for Monday, July 26, through Wednesday, August 4, 2010, at Fort AP Hill, Caroline County, Va., to coincide with the 100th birthday of the Boy Scouts of America. More than 40,000 Boy Scouts, Varsity Scouts and Scouters will attend. All the excitement of past Jamborees will be incorporated into the 2010 National Jamboree with new themes and shows.
