SPRING CITY-- The annual Spring City Heritage Day Celebration scheduled for Saturday, May 23, begins with breakfast from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m., at the city bowery. A tour of many of the town's charming pioneer-era homes and buildings which have been carefully restored are opened to the public,

Tickets for the home tours are sold at the Old Spring City School and the Old Firehouse and funds benefit preservation and restoration efforts in Spring City. Tours run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The following is a list of homes on the tour: the Marinus Petersen home, 285 East 500 North. Current owners are Lothar and Anita Janke; the Iver Christensen home, 323 East 500 North, Jim and Theda Hogle ; the Hyrum Jensen home, 385 East 500 North, George and Midge Delavan; the Iver Petersen home, 3 North Main, David Rosier; Emil Eriksen home, 119 West 200 North, Craig and M'lissa Paulsen; the Mikklesen home, 113 North Main, Lynn Farrer; the Rasmus Justesen home, 12 North Main, Susan Gallacher; the Orson Hyde home, 209 South Main, Bruce and Bonnie Barker.

The John F. Allred School, also known as the Endowment House, 63 West 300 South, Randall Lake; the Jacob Johnson barn, about 380 South 100 West, Chris and Allison Anderson; the Wiley Payne Allred home, 413 South 100 East, Greg and Dina Strong; the Allred Larsen home, 469 South 300 West, Ashley Webb; Jacob Johnson farm house, three miles east on Canal Canon Road, Carl and Jeannie Timm; the Lawrence Larsen home, 12 East 300 South, Dave Ericson; the Lydia Puzey home, about 53 West Center, Steve and Christine Allred; the Jensen home, 125 South Main, Jock and Bonnie Jones; the Spring City LDS Chapel, 164 South Main; and the Old Fire station, 44 North Main.

An art and antique sale is also held at the Old Spring City School, 45 East 100 South. A silent auction, called "Art Squared," is held at the Old School, where patrons bid on one-foot square paintings done by well known Spring City artists including Osral Allred, Lee Bennion, Susan Gallacher, M'Lisa Paulsen, Doug Fryer, Kathleen Peterson, Cassandria Parsons, and many other Utah artists. Art may be viewed beginning at 9 a.m. and the auction closes at 2 p.m., sharp.

Additional artwork by well-known artists as well as antiques will be available for sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the Old School and in local galleries. Lunch is served at the Spring City bowery from 12 to 1:30 p.m., and is sponsored by the local LDS Ward. Spring City is just off Highway 89, between Mt. Pleasant and Ephraim.

Spring City is the best preserved example of an early Mormon pioneer village and is on the National Register of Historic Pioneer Towns.

It may be sunny in Spring City while rainy on the Wasatch Front and the homes and art are lovely, whatever the weather.
