In 1986, Brad Turner opened the first One Man Band in Pleasant Grove, Utah.¬ His business has grown over the years and he now owns the franchise.¬ "I had worked in the food industry for about ten years and always wanted to start my own place.¬ I wanted to have a visible kitchen, where you can sit in the dining room and see the chef cook the food.¬ Now we have nine One Man Bands total.¬ We have them in Layton, Lehi, Pleasant Grove, Payson, Santaquin, Nephi, Clearfield, Spanish Fork, and Hill Air Force Base.¬ Soon there will be two more, but we can't disclose those locations yet," says Turner.
One Man Band is a nowadays diner.¬ "We were in the diner business before it was popular again to be a diner.¬ You know, diners died out in the '70's.¬ Then we opened.¬ We were in the diner business before Galaxy and Wingers started their diner business.¬ We serve all American breakfast, lunch, and dinner.¬ The traditional diner cuisine." says Turner.
There are a couple things that set One Man Band apart from the other restaurants.¬ "People would be surprised at our prices.¬ We are more like a full service restaurant but our plates are two or three dollars less than other places.¬ We are even cheaper than some fast food.¬ We also serve breakfast all day," says Turner.
One Man Ban is located at 97 West 100 North in Payson, Utah.¬ You may call at (801)465-0430.¬ Restaurant hours are seven days a week 8:00 am to 10:00 pm.
