FAIRFIELD RESIDENTS CELEBRATE -- Fun for both children and adults, Fairfield's annual Camp Floyd Day celebration on Saturday brought together local townspeople, history enthusiasts, Utah Civil War Association re-enactors, and visitors to Camp Floyd State Park for a day of festivity.

The event serves double duty as Fairfield's town celebration and Camp Floyd State Park's day to commemorate the encampment of Johnston's Army from 1858-1861.

This year Camp Floyd Day was scheduled to coincide with Free State Parks Day, so entrance was free into the Commissary Museum, Stagecoach Inn and Historic Fairfield Schoolhouse for self-guided tours.

FREE FAMILY WORKSHOPS -- TOMORROW IS THE FIRST NIGHT OF A SERIES OF FREE FAMILY WORKSHOPS AT LEHI CITY HALL, 153 N. 100 EAST, LEHI.

Sponsored by the Lehi Community Council, each monthly 2-hour workshop will take place on the first Friday of the month at 7 p.m. More information on each class is available from Linda Turner at 768-1102 or turlinda@gmail.com.

The first workshop will be presented by the Lehi Police Department, "Child Predators Among Us."

Future workshops will be on subjects such as identity theft, finances and dating abuse, and will have titles like "Marriage Triage," "Bored to Death" or "Real Life Superman."

HAUNTED MUSEUM PLANNED -- THE HUTCHINGS MUSEUM DIRECTOR SUSAN WHITTAKER, THE DOCENTS AND OTHER VOLUNTEERS WILL BE HOSTING A NIGHT AT THE HAUNTED MUSEUM ON OCT. 16 FROM 5:30-8:30 P.M. ADMISSION IS FREE.

The Max Out Puppet Troop will perform a Halloween-themed puppet show from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Ben Woodruff and friends will tell scary pirate tales around a campfire north of the museum beginning at 7 p.m. A few live owls will assist with the ambiance that will last until 8 p.m. Those attending are asked to provide their own coats, blankets and chairs.

Creatively-dressed BYU students will tell a variety of haunted tales, one assigned to each museum room, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Learn about ghost-hunting from real ghost hunters from 6:30-7 p.m. who will have hunted at the museum the weekend prior to the event.

The Hobble Creek Wranglers will also be "robbing" the museum and giving rides to little wranglers in their golf cart outside the museum.

BARNYARD BOO AT THANKSGIVING POINT --

Barnyard Boo at Thanksgiving Point will be held on Oct. 9, 12, 13, 14, 16 and 20-30, except Sundays. Hours are 4-8 p.m. Monday-Friday and 12-8 p.m. on Saturday and during UEA weekend.

The family activities will include Halloween crafts and games, cookie decorating, spooky tales, entertainment, haunted hay rides and trick or treat tunnel. Cost is $5 per person, half off for Thanksgiving Point members. The Barnyard Boo activities will be held in Farm Country.

HARVEST FESTIVAL AND GIANT PUMPKIN CONTEST -- ENTRIES FOR THE GIANT PUMPKIN CONTEST SPONSORED BY THE LEHI CITY PARKS AND TRAIL COMMITTEE WILL BE TAKEN OCT. 14 FROM 9-11 A.M. AT ALBERTSON'S IN LEHI, AT APPROXIMATELY 750 E. MAIN ST. JUDGING WILL BE FROM 11 A.M. TO NOON AND THE WINNERS WILL BE ANNOUNCED AT NOON. ALBERTSON'S WILL BE SPONSORING CHILDREN'S ACTIVITIES -- PUMPKIN CARVING, COLORING AND TREATS.

POLICE ASK FOR RESIDENTS' HELP -- THE LEHI POLICE DEPARTMENT IS ASKING LEHI RESIDENTS TO REPORT ANY GRAFFITI SEEN IN THE CITY IMMEDIATELY TO THE STATION AT 768-7110 OR E-MAIL BLOVERIDGE@LEHICITY.COM. GRAFFITI HAS BECOME A PROBLEM AT THE CITY'S OVERPASSES ALONG I-15 AND STATE STREET.
