MANTI-- After reviewing security camera video, witness interviews and consulting with police officers concerning the fatal shooting of Antonio Ramos in Centerfield, on the night of March 8, Sanpete County Attorney Ross Blackham released the following statement.

"Ramos was shot during his commission of an armed robbery at Walker's convenience store in Centerfield. Under the facts and circumstances of this case, a reasonable belief existed that deadly force was necessary to prevent death or serious bodily injury to another person and or the commission of a violent felony. The deadly force used against Ramos was therefore justified under Utah law and is an exoneration from any criminal responsibility for his death."
