• RAPE SUSPICION -- A Provo man was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of rape.

According to a police affidavit, a woman reported that she met David J. Pettersson, 29, at an AA meeting a month ago. The victim reportedly told police Pettersson came into her apartment while she was sleeping June 30 and forced himself on her, despite her repeated refusals.

Pettersson was interviewed by police Wednesday and admitted the encounter, but denied it was forced, according to the report. He was booked into the Utah County Jail on a charge of rape with a $10,000 cash bail.
