CEDAR FORT
Littering -- An officer responded to a call from a driver in the Cedar Fort area reporting garbage coming off the top of a garbage truck on SR73. The complainant supplied the license plate number of the truck. On his way westbound, the officer located the subject vehicle and turned around, followed, and verified the license plate number. He initiated a traffic stop and told the driver the reason for the stop. The driver said he must have a hole in his cover tarp, and would replace it immediately.
EAGLE MOUNTAIN
Illegal consumption -- A deputy initiated a traffic stop for speeding on SR 73 near the Ranches Parkway. The driver and passenger said they had been to a party in the Cedar Fort area where alcohol was being consumed. Both were underage. The driver was cited for illegal possession of tobacco. The passenger was cited for illegal consumption of alcohol.
Driving under the influence -- A deputy pulled over a vehicle for speeding 75 mph in a 55 mph zone on SR73. The driver was intoxicated. A search of the vehicle revealed drug paraphernalia. The driver was booked into the Utah County Jail for driving under the influence of alcohol, open container, speeding, and no insurance on the vehicle. The other three passengers were cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.
LEHI
ALCOHOL OFFENSE -- Passenger was cited for illegal consumption following a traffic stop on July 24. The driver was given a warning on traffic offenses.
ASSAULT -- A man was cited for simple assault following a domestic violence response on July 23.
TRAFFIC STOP -- An individual was cited for driving on a denied driver's license and no proof of insurance on July 27. The vehicle was impounded for expired registration.
TRAFFIC STOP -- An individual was cited for expired registration, no insurance and no driver's license on July 28.
ANIMAL PROBLEMS -- Over 20 animal calls were responded to including removing animal carcasses from the highway, taking animals to the pound, noise calls, etc. These were between Juy 23 and July 28.
PLEASANT GROVE
ASSAULT -- A teenager was charged with assault on Aug. 3 when he lost his temper and put his uncle in a headlock, causing injury.
BURGLARY -- A delayed burglary report was taken on Aug. 3 of golf equipment, valued at $1,200, taken from a garage about a week before.
VEHICLE BURGLARY -- An Alpine CD player, amplifier, and speaker were reported stolen a car on July 31.
VEHICLE BURGLARY -- Cash was stolen from inside an unlocked car. This was reported on Aug. 5.
VEHICLE BURGLARY -- A DeWalt drill, Milwaukee Sawzall, and various hand tools were reported stolen from a vehicle on July 30.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF -- Officers responded to a report of a windshield being broken by a water balloon on Aug. 2. The reporting party thought a passing car had thrown the water balloon but it was determined the vehicle was not involved. The driver of the second vehicle thought he witnessed children running from the area. Police said there have been several reports of children throwing water balloons at cars in that area.
CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE PROBLEM -- Officers responded to a home on July 30 to serve a felony warrant on a man. The man was located and taken into custody without incident. The man attempted to conceal drug paraphernalia. He was taken to the Utah County Jail and booked in on the warrant, possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia, possession of paraphernalia in a secure facility and tampering with evidence.
CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE PROBLEM -- A traffic stop on Aug. 2 resulted in the arrest of two men. One man was issued a citation for open container and possession of drug paraphernalia. The other man was issued a citation for open container and was later booked into the Utah County Jail on a warrant.
DRIVING-UNDER-THE-INFLUENCE -- Officers made a traffic stop for improper turn signal, obscured rear window, no insurance endorsement, and weaving within a lane of traffic on Aug. 4. Upon speaking with the occupants, a strong odor of alcohol was present in the passenger compartment, and an 18-year-old man was observed smoking a cigarette. A search turned up an open container of light beer, tobacco, and a number of unopened cans of light beer in an 18-pack case. The 18-year-old man submitted to a portable breathe test and had .085 breathe alcohol concentration. He was issued a citation for open container, illegal alcohol consumption, and possession of tobacco. The woman driver was arrested for DUI, improper turn signal and possession of tobacco. She submitted to -- and failed -- field tests. She submitted to a intoxilyer test and had a .075 breathe alcohol concentration. Both were referred to the Pleasant Grove Justice Court.
THEFT -- A man was cited after attempting to return items he did not purchase to a store on Aug. 2.
