If you're campaigning, careful where you put those signs.

Provo police made an early stop at Lion's Park, 1000 W. 1200 North, when campaign signs for half a dozen people sprouted up. It's illegal to post campaign signs on public property.

They were put there by a well-meaning Kandie Robinson, coordinator for a Take Back the Night evening Tuesday. Robinson said she asked Municipal Council members and others for donations for the neighborhood group and then asked for signs to put up as recognition for their donations. While there were signs for actual candidates like Mark Sumsion and Midge Johnson, there were also signs for Chris Cannon, George Stewart and Cindy Clark, who aren't up for election.

After the police cruiser left, Robinson and others moved the signs to her property near the park, which is completely legal.
