American Fork still claims the title of "the hub of north Utah County," but will not be using that slogan on its artwork. The City Council adopted a new logo for the community, replacing the wagon wheel which had been used in several versions since 1942. The new logo shows the renovated, historic City Hall, the river, cattails, mountains and a stanza of "America the Beautiful," along with the city's name and "1853," the date the city was founded.

OREM
Three thousand students saw the movie "America Pastime" thanks to StoresOnline, an Orem-based e-services company. The company donated money to the Jordan School District students, which paid the cost of transportation. The movie revolves around a Japanese family interned at the Topaz Relocation Center in central Utah. Rep. Sylvia Andersen, R-Sandy, worked with the Larry H. Miller Group to cover the cost of the tickets.
"We saw a need in our community and stepped forward," said Rob Lewis, CFO of StoresOnline. "We want to be good neighbors -- this was another opportunity to help."
